Dearest Readers,
I am reposting something I published here in December 2011 because it still makes me smile. It is one of my all-time favorite conversations with one of the Little Persons in my life at that time. ( No, it’s not a typo.)
A few of you have been around long enough that you might remember it. If you’re new, I wouldn’t even have had to tell you it is a repost. Enjoy, and maybe it will make you smile.

I wear this necklace most days between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Three-year-old Little Miss loves it . . .
always notices when I wear it . . .
Last year, after spending the night with her,
she looked at me across the breakfast table,
and seriously observed,
“You have a snowman on your shirt.”

“Yes, I do.”

(I was still wearing my snowman pj’s)
She knows I love snow and snowmen.
These pj’s were her mother’s present to me one year.
A brief pause,
followed by her serious pronouncement:
“I like
Baby Jesus
best.”
My prayer, Little Miss,
is you will always like
Baby Jesus
best.
“God with us!”
Immanuel!
May all of us like
Baby Jesus
best.
And so, Dear Readers, three-year-old Little Miss is now seventeen and still loving Jesus. May it be true of all of us, no matter how old we get.
Merry Christmas, and may the peace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, be with you and those you love.
