This morning, I am stopped by the quiet beauty
of gray clouds
and a thin sliver of pastel blue sky
lining the horizon across the frozen
snow-covered lake.
What is it that makes me stop at the sight?
get a lump in my throat?
What is so unusual about a cloudy morning
after a snowstorm
the day before.
Immediately, Lord,
Lord, you remind me of Romans 1:20
where it says I can see YOU
through the things
you have created.
I stand here, surrounded by
by your presence.
as if you have reached down
and given me hug
Oh Lord, you know how the
things you have created
help me sense
your very presence.
For what is creation,
but a sign
pointing back to you.
Last week I was at Epcot
entertaining, magical, interesting
a tribute to the man’s creativity
Epcot did not make me think of You.
But this - the simple beauty of
the clouds
the pastel blue of the sky
These - make me think of you.
Romans 1:20
The basic reality of God is plain enough.
Open your eyes and there it is!
By taking a long and thoughtful look
at what God has created,
people have always been able
to see what their eyes as such can’t see:
eternal power, for instance,
and the mystery of his divine being.
(The Message)
There's no excuse.
May I never worship the creation,
rather reserve my worship
for You,
Creator
I dont’ know why these things always surprise me – surprised by beauty. maybe someone said that…I love how God speaks – and yes, Karen, how we hear when we stop and look. I wonder how much I have missed in my life by rushing through, never stopping to look.
And, I love your pictures!
Simplicity…God makes it so easy for us to see him, if we will only begin to look for him. Thank you for the reminder to stop and look.
The beauty of blue skies and white clouds. I doesn’t get much prettier the then that unless there are green pine trees close by. I love god’s color sceems.
