“Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 Sometimes what my soul needs is to sit quietly. Absorbing the sounds of rippling water, I have no agenda no prayer requests. I have been eyeing this quiet nook a couple times a week, all summer long. Often I have considered how I might get back in there and just sit and be quiet. Today I can't resist and from my spot at the foot of the tree, I find what I am looking for. Joining today with Barbie Swihart and "The Weekend Brew" Lisha Epperson and "Give Me Grace" Kelly Woodford and "Unforced Rhythms"
Simply gorgeous, Carol. My soul always resonates with your words, with the way you see and the way you rest. Thank you.
Well, Amber, i felt the same way with your words recently when i read your post about being under the trees. Maybe we are long lost sisters…well, you DO look a lot younger than me, oh well! seriously, happy to have come across your lovely musings.
Oh, such beauty in the rhythms of stillness. I feel it with you, friend.
Thanks for joining us at Unforced Rhythms.
thanks for your visit Kelli. I hope you find some quiet too.
Such beautiful truth!
thanks for stopping by Barbie. Appreciate your visits.
This is a real treat to see and to read. Thank you so much. And I’m a “watery” person, too. LOVE streams, oceans, bays, lakes, waterfalls. AND rocks. LOTS of rocks. I’m an addict of these things. Thank you much for your sharing post this time.
i have often wondered what exactly it is about water that has such a universal appeal – i find it interesting. my kids just moved to Portland and they were at Cannon Beach today. I was jealous!
The perfect nook, Carol! I’m so glad you found a way in. Thanks so much for stopping by my place, it is very nice to meet you.
thanks for stopping by June. Yeh…sometimes you just have to do it…the thing you keep wanting to do!
Carol, it always amazes me how our souls truly know what they need. Our souls call us back to rest. To quiet. To Him. Have a blessed Sunday!
Yes, Joanne, our souls know…and when we stop long enough we hear – thanks for your visit here today.
I was awoken at 2 am by the college kids coming home safely from a fun Saturday night out. After catch up and hearing about who they saw and hearing all the stories- they are all ready for sleep and I’m wide awake. Restless I grabbed my iPhone and found what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing your thoughts so poetically. I’m calm once again and ready for sleep. Awww
dear sweet Amy, How lovely to hear from you. I am so glad you let me know. I miss having you in my life – with the way things have changed, our paths don’t cross anymore, but I am glad you connected here.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. I can tell your soul found respite there, Carol. Such a necessary luxury!
i like what you just said here “necessary luxury.” most would see that as a contradiction of terms! but i like it. it get it. thanks for stopping by!
