“Before and After” PS: An Intentional Journey

IMG_0266My REFUGE:  My cousin Janet sends me an email on either Wednesday or Thursday of that week. I can still remember sitting at Carol’s computer reading her email to me. It was a short email . . . simply sharing verse that helped her when her dad died.  I showed it to Dad and he said Psalm 73 is a good Psalm to read when it seems life isn’t fair. This certainly didn’t seem fair!

Psalm 73:26 & 28

26: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heartand my portion forever.

28 But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.

on that day, I commit to:

  • actively seeking after God, the Sovereign God as my refuge.
  • telling others about my journey because maybe. something in my story will help them when it is their turn to grieve. Or maybe it will help them help their friend who is grieving

In retrospect, I believe this was the start of being intentional about my grief journey.

  1. I needed those verses today,Janet and Carol…In our crazy world focusing on God and make Him the strength of my life….even when mine fails…..I can REST in my Lord.
